TITLE: Drone Club Adviser

STIPEND: $1,100

SUMMARY: Reporting to the Building Principal, the Middle School Drone Club Advisor is responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising a student drone club that meets twice weekly from October through April, with participation in approximately four weekend competitions throughout the season. The advisor will foster student interest in drone technology, engineering, coding, teamwork, and problem-solving through hands-on learning experiences and competitive events.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Planning and facilitating regular drone club meetings, lessons, and activities
•Teaching and supporting students in drone operation, safety procedures, coding/programming, and competition preparation
•Supervising students during all meetings, practices, and competitions
•Coordinating registration, logistics, and communication for weekend competitions and events
•Maintaining inventory and care of drones, equipment, and materials
•Promoting teamwork, collaboration, creativity, and responsible technology use
•Communicating schedules, expectations, and updates with students, families, and administration
•Ensuring adherence to school policies and safety guidelines related to drone use and student supervision
The advisor should possess strong organizational and communication skills, an interest in STEM and emerging related technologies, and the ability to create a positive, engaging environment for middle school students.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Current member of the Oxford Education Association.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to remain in a stationary position for extended periods; position oneself to demonstrate technique; move up to 25 lbs. Accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform the functions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work is generally performed primarily indoors and predominantly in a school classroom.
