Junior 3D Modeling & Geomatics Specialist

Design Excellence – Building the Networks that Connect Communities!

Why this Role

Interested in working with cutting-edge geospatial technology and helping build the digital infrastructure behind Canada’s telecommunications networks?

Join Encepta’s growing team as a Junior 3D Modeling & Geomatics Specialist, where you’ll help transform real-world spatial data into accurate digital models used to support critical telecommunications infrastructure projects across Canada.

This role is ideal for someone early in their career who enjoys technology, technical problem-solving, spatial thinking, and working in detailed computer-based environments. Whether your background is in GIS, geomatics, geography, engineering, remote sensing, CAD, or spatial analysis, this is an opportunity to build highly specialized technical skills while learning from experienced mentors.

At Encepta, you’ll work in a collaborative environment where curiosity, continuous learning, and quality are highly valued. If you enjoy technical software, solving puzzles, and seeing how digital models support real-world infrastructure, this could be the perfect opportunity to grow your career.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Reporting to our technical leadership team, you will support the delivery of telecommunications infrastructure projects through spatial modeling, geomatics workflows, and technical data processing.

Collaborating closely with technical leads, field teams, engineers, and infrastructure specialists, your responsibilities will include:

  • Processing point cloud and geomatics data collected through field operations and technical mapping programs
  • Creating and digitizing 3D infrastructure models used to support aerial telecommunications analysis
  • Supporting infrastructure modeling for telecommunications and utility-related projects
  • Reviewing and validating spatial data to ensure models accurately reflect real-world conditions
  • Working across multiple project programs simultaneously while maintaining quality and accuracy
  • Supporting continuous improvement in technical workflows and data quality practices

What Success Looks Like

Within your first 12–18 months, you’ll be:

  • Confidently processing and interpreting spatial datasets and modeling workflows
  • Independently completing modeling assignments that meet internal quality standards
  • Developing strong technical expertise in geomatics and telecommunications infrastructure
  • Building confidence working with point cloud data and aerial infrastructure systems
  • Collaborating effectively with technical leads and cross-functional teams
  • Continuously improving technical workflows and contributing to team success

What We’re Looking For

  • Technical Curiosity & Learning Agility
  • You’re naturally curious, enjoy learning new software and systems, and are excited by technical problem-solving and spatial thinking.

Educational Background

University, college, or technical school graduate in:

  • GIS / Geomatics
  • Geography
  • Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Environmental, Industrial)
  • Remote Sensing
  • Spatial Data Science
  • Or a related technical discipline

Technical Exposure

Experience or exposure to any of the following is considered an asset:

  • GIS platforms (ArcGIS, QGIS)
  • CAD or technical software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, FME, or similar)
  • LiDAR, photogrammetry, UAV mapping, or point cloud environments
  • Geospatial analysis or spatial visualization workflows
  • Data processing and quality assurance
