DescriptionMayvin is seeking a UAS Systems Technician to support the configuration, integration, testing, and maintenance of Group 1 and Group 2 unmanned aerial systems. The selected candidate will primarily focus on technical troubleshooting and system integration across software, networking, and RF communication systems, while also supporting FPV flight operations for system validation. The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team to diagnose system-level issues, improve system performance, and support ongoing development and testing efforts.

Must have ability to obtain a TS/SCI Clearance
Responsibilities:
- Provides technical support for unmanned aerial systems, including configuration, integration, troubleshooting of hardware, software, and embedded systems. Diagnose issues across RF communications, telemetry links, video transmission systems, and IP-based networking. Configures and maintains radios, ground control systems, onboard computing, and communication equipment.
- Supports system integration efforts involving flight controllers, sensors, cameras, and communication payloads. Performs firmware updates, software configuration, and debugging to ensure system functionality and reliability. Assists in identifying root causes of system failures across hardware, software, and network layers.
- Conducts structured system testing and assists in evaluating system performance. Provides technical feedback to improve system design, reliability, and operational effectiveness. Supports development efforts by validating system performance against requirements.
- Supports Group 1 and Group 2 drone operation in testing and training environments for the purpose of system validation. Evaluates system behavior during flight and identifies performance anomalies related to communication, control, or onboard systems.
- Develops and maintains technical documentation including system configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and maintenance records. Documents system performance data and supports knowledge sharing across the team.
QualificationsRequired qualifications:
- Minimum of Bachelors Degree
- Advanced degree (desired)
- DAWIA II in Program Management (required)/Level III (highly desired)
- Lean Six Sigma Certified, e.g. Green Belt/Yellow Belt/Black Belt (desired but not required)
- A minimum of 16 years of progressively responsible experience in a directly related area, during which both professional and technical capabilities have been clearly demonstrated.
- Experience with government and DoW Acquisition Management systems, to include: requirements analysis, database and portal design, script development, configuration and management, maintenance, and security)
- Expertise in managing and maintaining relational internal SQL databases and MS SharePoint Portal sites (desired)
- Extremely strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Outstanding verbal, written and visual presentation skills.
- Self-starter, self-directed with the ability to work independently in support of the organizations strategic goals and objectives and effectively within internal and across enterprise cross-functional integrated product teams.
- Maintains technical competency and applicable industry certifications
Education/Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Experience with Linux-based systems (preferred).
- Programming or scripting experience (Python, C++, Bash) (preferred).
- Familiarity with flight control software (Ardupilot, PX4, Betaflight, etc.) (preferred).
- Experience with software-defined radios, RF testing equipment, or telemetry systems (preferred).
- Amateur radio license or equivalent RF experience (preferred).
